Arrival

Airport

You can take a direct train from the airport to Manchester Piccadilly railway station in the city centre, or Manchester Oxford Road railway station. The cost of a single ticket starts from £4.00 and should take 15–20 minutes.

A taxi from the airport to the city centre should cost approximately £35.

You can also take the number 43 public bus directly from the airport bus station to the University and city centre for less than £3.

Tram

The tram runs from the airport to the city centre and this takes approximately 45 minutes. Buy tick-ets from a machine on the Metrolink platform before boarding the tram. There are a number of tram stops in the city centre, so please check in advance which is the best for your destination.

Arriving by car

Driving and parking in Manchester can be difficult due to the amount of construction in the city. If you do wish to drive please contact us for the latest advice.

Travel in the city

Manchester is a very compact city and is easy to walk and navigate. The venues that we will be using are all very close to Manchester Piccadilly train station.

Free city centre busses

There are three circular routes covering the main areas in the city centre.
